✿ Makeup Starter Kit ✿

hiya~

Today's blog post is all about beginners. I first started getting interested in makeup around 8th grade, when I discovered Youtubers like Zoella and Missglamorazzi. They sparked my interest in makeup, and I have been obsessed ever since.

Makeup is a fantastic way to boost your self-esteem and a fun past time. I consider makeup to be a form of art. I have improved greatly in makeup, and I am still learning about it.

Makeup is so addictive to me, and it helps me realize that beauty is so easily achieved; everyone is beautiful, and makeup is merely something to enhance it. Beauty products have helped me become less insecure.

In an effort to help you all with makeup, here are some products I recommend that are foolproof for those of you just starting out.

Here we gooooo!

EYELASH CURLER

The most important part of eyes is mascara, in my opinion. It's the most basic item you can have. My first makeup product was mascara. (MAC Haute and Naughty to be exact).

However, many people overlook the importance of an eyelash curler. Without one, I think it's pointless to apply mascara.

I've only ever owned one eyelash curler in my life, and that's this Sephora one.
It's somewhat pricey at $17 but it's totally worth the splurge! I would probably pick up the purple one now, but I own the pink one, and it comes with extra padding in case you get your curler's padding dirty. i haven't switched it out since. Definitely invest in one of these!

EYESHADOW

Eyeshadow is definitely one of the most tricky aspects of makeup, and a cheat is cream eyeshadow. i still use daily now, and it's perfect for lazy people such as myself. I still haven't mastered powder eyeshadow, but I'm working on it.

My favorite cream eyeshadows are the infamous Maybelline Color Tattoos. I haven't found anything quite like them.

You can just apply them to the eyelid using your pinky for precision, and then blend out with your ring finger or a fluffy blending brush.

My favorite shades are Bad to the Bronze and Creamy Beige (from the leather line).

Bad to the Bronze

MASCARA

I will never stop using this mascara. I absolutely adore it.

Everyone knows I love Maybelling the Falsies Volume Express. I've tried so many different mascaras in my lifetime --- high end, drugstore --- and nothing has ever compared. I keep coming back to this!

A ton of beauty gurus and notable people adore this as well. Acacia Brinley swears by this!

I always recommend waterproof, because why not? Who knows when you'll have an emotional breakdown? It's fantastic at separating, lengthening, and giving insane volume. If you curl your lashes well, this will make your lashes look false, hence the name.

Make sure you pick up the Volume Express version, because there are 3 different versions of this mascara, and the other ones are definitely not as good.

CONCEALER

There are various types of concealers. I definitely recommend Nars Creamy Concealer if you are ok with splurging, because it gives great coverage and has fantastic consistency. It also lasts quite a while.

From the drugstore, I quite like the Nyx HD concealer, as well as Rimmel Wake Me Up, which is currently my go to.

For under the eyes, you can use Rimmel Wake Me Up, which is a fantastic double-use concealer. I also recommend the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer!

POWDER

I would definitely go with translucent powder, because I find colored powder reveals pores and doesn't work when the seasons change and your skin tone alters.

I'm currently using a Clinique powder, but honestly, any clear pressed powder will do.

I find my face doesn't look finished until I use powder.

A drugstore recommendation from me is the Rimmel Stay Matte powder, which is fantastic! I need to go repurchase this myself! (for the third time??)

LIP COLOR

For light, sheer color, I highly recommend Baby Lips by Maybelline. My favorite shades are Grape Vine and Cherry Me. They taste great, give cute color, and condition my lips to baby softness!!!

Clinique Baby Tints are also great, but don't smell as great or condition as well. I love the color selection, though! It's far better than the Baby Lips line, but if you don't want to splurge, I'd definitely say go with the Maybelline ones!

For actual pigment, I recommend any lip crayon type product. My favorite Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is the shade Honey. I also enjoy the Soap and Glory Sexy Motherpucker Gloss Balm in Nudist, which is extremely glossy. My favorite lipstick is any of the Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks, because they taste fantastic and have a great color selection. I love 107 and 106.

For lip glosses, I enjoy the Nyx Mood lip glosses that come in the tubes. My favorite is the strawberry one. It tastes great, has fantastic color (definitely a dupe of the Dior Lip glow products), and isn't sticky. It applies super smooth. The new Cover Girl Colorlicious Lip Glosses are also fantastic! (not sticky, great colors)

I hope this blog post was beneficial to you!

Leave comments with blog post suggestions, and happy Thanksgiving to those of you who celebrate it!

Hope you're enjoying your well-deserved time off; I know I am!

✿ Fitness Goals ✿

hiya~

I apologize for my super long hiatus from blogging. It's been quite some time, and I've just been bombarded with school work, work, and volleyball.

However, I want to take time out of my day today to set some fitness goals for myself because I really would like to be healthier.

Working out is not a big necessity in my life because I'm constantly active due to volleyball, almost to the point where it is too much.

I do eat unhealthy, and at bad times and in bad amounts. I've decided to set a few goals for myself for this month, and see where that leads me in weight loss!

GOALS
~ Drink more water.
1 cup before every meal, and at least one liter a day.

~Cut out fast food.
French fries are yummy, but there is no such thing as a free french fry?

~Lower carb amounts.
I'm going to attempt to cut out carbs from my diet.

~Don't snack aimlessly!
Instead, drink a cup of water to see if you're actually hungry or merely craving.

~No soda.
I am going to cut out soft drinks completely; only water, with the occasional iced tea (unsweetened).

~Document everything I eat.
That way, I'll actually be conscious of what I'm putting in my body instead of snacking and then feeling guilty later.

That's it for my goals. If you have any idea for me to help me healthily lose weight, leave them in the comment below!

I always say I'm going to go on a diet and make some serious health changes, but I never do it, so I'm going to put some pictures up in my room for constant inspiration.
